Looking for the next step to develop your career as a Clinical Trials Research Professional?

Then a Work-Based Learning module programme may be for you.

What is Work-based Learning?

This is a self-directed but structured way of maximising the learning opportunities that are available in the workplace. We all learn most effectively from the issues most relevant to our own individual situation, and these modules facilitate that. It involves identifying learning experiences and, guided by a learning contract, producing written evidence of study that fits individual requirements. This evidence is in the format of a 3000 word essay supported by a Portfolio of Learning

Who would benefit from this?

These modules are provided as part of the Glasgow Caledonian University's School of Nursing, Midwifery & Community health curriculum, but would benefit anyone involved in Clinical Trials of human subjects.

What qualification will I get?

Successful completion of each module will lead to 20 credits at level 3. These academic accreditations can be used as part of a BSc (Hons) including top-up for Diplomates. Alternatively, for Graduates, completion of all three modules leads to a 'Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research'

How long will it take?

Work-based learning contract modules are a flexible mode of learning that do not require attendance at lectures and should take approximately 15 weeks to complete

How much does it cost?

£250 for each module in addition to the course fee for the one day Introduction to Good Clinical Practice course (if applicable)
